You might remember I posted about some fabric I bought at Walthamstow market some weeks ago. Here’s what I did with it.
Hot on the heels of the recent preview, Named have released their new sewing pattern collection online.
The Playground collection is inspired by the practicality and simplicity of children’s clothing but, better still, this collection is just for adults! Modern yet elegant and both simple and playful, the sewing patterns all look incredible and I can’t wait to make these up!
The collection includes dresses, tops, culottes, a wraparound playsuit, a denim jacket and even a pair of dungarees! Let’s take a look at some of the pieces.
I have finally watched La La Land (you may have seen me mention it here) and it was as amazing as everyone says it is. It’s got both Ryan Gosling (I’ve loved him since The Notebook) and Emma Stone (one of my fave female actresses) in and the costumes, which all seem to be made in primary colours, are beautiful. I think the costume designer has done an incredible job with the clothes in the film.
One of the main reasons I wanted to go to the cinema to see La La Land was because of the fashion. If you haven’t seen the film yet, you really should. The trailer shows some of the amazing costumes that Emma wears, but it goes without saying that you can see them in better detail in the film.
Although I’d really love to recreate each one, there are a few dresses that stand out in particular for me, so I thought I’d do a round-up of the costumes I loved. Read on for more.
Does anyone else get major sewing anxiety whenever they’re away from their machine? I certainly have tonight. In fact, I am so desperate to sew something I’ve been contemplating buying a travel sewing machine to carry around with me. Other ways I’ve been distracting myself include knitting a blanket and pinning to my ‘DIYs and crafts’ board constantly.
