Cleo’s been on my radar for a little while and it’s easy to see why it’s been so popular with sewing bloggers across the world. The Tilly and the Buttons pinafore is perfect for weekend adventures and times where you want to feel comfy yet look great!
Cleo dungaree dress: made by me; striped top: Petit Bateau; Shoes: Clarks
I made mine with the dungaree clips because why not? I also made it in the most amazing and luxurious velvety fabric I picked up from work. It’s thick enough not to need lining and doesn’t feel bulky so it was perfect for Cleo.
I also included the front pocket but one thing I do find that this one lacks is side pockets. I know they’re not exactly conventional but I’m always reaching for my pockets. I guess had I included the hip pockets, my problems might have been solved but, for this version, I just wanted the front pocket.
Length wise, I made the longer version and turned it up quite a bit. I tend to find that high street pinafores are really short on me so this way I knew it wouldn’t be, but if you want to be more precise, Tilly also includes the option to shorten or lengthen the pinafore.
And it gave me the excuse to wear my favourite Clarks classic shoes again!
What do you think? I know everyone loves the Cleo at the moment AND Tilly’s just released the Zadie too!
