Oh Pinterest, you’re stealing my heart as usual! Now that September is here I’m as interested in autumnal tartan and plaid prints as much as the floral dresses I adore all year round. For now, though, here is a list of all that I’d love to make in the run up to winter. As ever click the links to be taken to the original pin.
Simple loose fitting tops:
Plain tops are the perfect thing to put on with jeans on a cold day and the Inari top is definitely on my list of things to make in the next few months. I just love the above mustard versions.
The sewing editor at work recently gave me her scraps – a lovely, navy lace. I instantly thought of the Ava pattern and then I kept seeing dresses like this everywhere. And so my mind was made up – the Ava has been bumped up in my sewing list. I look forward to showing you the results.
Shirt dresses in check or tartan:
Winter is coming (sorry, couldn’t resist!) and every time the weather gets a bit colder, come September time, I always dream of tartan and check clothing. So there’s really no excuse not to make up the Lisette Traveller dress, now is there? The above examples are from the same blogger and I love the check print on both of them. Don’t you think it gives them both a different look (one summery, one autumnal). Plus the shirt style reminds me of a Cath Kidston dress I own which shrunk in the wash, so I’ll be making up a similar version as a replacement as soon as I can.
