One of the things I love about having a Christmas tree is the endless possibilities for photographs. In today’s tutorial, I wanted to try out something I saw on another blog, the lens effect, perfect for those festive photos this Christmas.
I was hoping for a more bokeh like effect, which is created in the same way, but my camera skills aren’t that great, so instead I got the below effects. But, first, the tutorial:
What you’ll need:
Black paper or card
A hole punch
Masking/electrical/parcel tape
Your camera lens cover
To make:
Cut out a circle the same size as your camera lens cover from the black paper. Punch a hole in the middle of the circle or cut a shape using a pair of scissors. Ideally, this should be quite small. Cut a long strip to go around the lens and attach with some tape. Place over your lens, switch to manual mode, set a low aperture and take photos to your heart’s content.
